6 days from Marrakech

In the morning our driver will be waiting for you at the hotel/riad and you’ll start your trip in a 4x4 to cross the Atlas Mountains and visit Ait Ben Haddou, the biggest Kasbah in the whole Morocco! Then, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, to visit the cinematographic studios where movies such as “Gladiator”, “The Mummy”, “Kingdom of Heaven” and many others were filmed there. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Early in the morning we’ll go down the valley of the Draa River, and we’ll see many spectacular Kasbahs, to reach Zagora. 22 km (13 mi) from Zagora, the town of Tamegroute, where the oldest library of Islam is located, and where they make the traditional green pottery of Morocco. We’ll return in the afternoon to Zagora where we’ll spend the night. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll leave Zagora in our 4x4 to travel 300 km (186 mi) of desert along the old track of Paris-Dakar. We’ll cross through the towns of Taouz, Ouzina, Khamlia, Agoult and the pass of Tizi-N-Tafilalet. We’ll arrive Merzouga in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll start our “Nomadic Tour” to see the dunes and the oasis of Merzouga. We’ll visit Khamlia where we’ll enjoy of a private Gnawa music concert; we’ll visit the Mifiss Mines; we will take a mint tea with a nomad family and we’ll visit the oasis of Tissardmine. In the afternoon, we’ll go for a trekking in the dunes by camels to see the sunset. We’ll sleep in the desert next to a beautiful oasis. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional Berber tent.

After breakfast, we’ll start again the trip to climb the Valley of Ziz and go through the villages of Rissani (famous for its donkey market and for being one of the biggest ones in Morocco), Erfoud (famous for its fossils) and Tinerhid, where we’ll enter into the Gorges of Todra. We’ll continue through the Valley of Roses until we reach Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Early in the morning we’ll leave Ouarzazate to cross the Atlas Mountains and visit the ruins of the palace of the Lord of Marrakech. We’ll arrive in Marrakech about midday. Afternoon free in the Medina to visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Kotoubia, and get lost in its colorful souk or you can go for a visit to admire the snake charmers, story-tellers... that you can find in the Jemaa El Fna Square.
