Day 1

FEZ – IFRANE – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast, we’ll depart to the Desert of Merzouga through the Middle Atlas region. We’ll drive through Ifrane, “the Switzerland of Morocco” and the cedar forests of Azrou where we can make a stop to see the macaques habitat. We’ll continue to Midelt where we’ll have lunch. We’ll then follow the River of Ziz through its valley and stop to see the Gorges of Ziz on our way to Merzouga.

Day 2

NOMADIC TOUR

We’ll explore the desert region and the wonderful desert dunes of “Erg Chebbi”. We’ll make a trek on the desert dunes where you’ll have the chance to see the nomad’s way of life and the amazing changing contrasts of the desert. We’ll visit the “black village” of Khamlia where we’ll able to enjoy of a Gnawa concert in live. We’ll have a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the afternoon, we’ll do a trek on camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional Berber tent.

Day 3

MERZOUGA – RISSANI – GORGES OF TODRA

After breakfast, we’ll leave the Sahara desert dunes of “Erg Chebbi” to follow an off-road driving across the Hamada (“the Black Desert”) to get to the Sahara town of Rissani. We’ll visit his animated local market and afterwards, we’ll go to the north, to the Erfoud location, which is well-known for its fossils; here we’ll be able to make a stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to the impressive Gorges of Todra, made for climbers, where you can hike before we check-in. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4

VALLEY OF DADES – VALLEY OF ROSES – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE

After breakfast, we’ll start our tour along “the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs”, since there are enormous kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of those old fortified houses are restored but unfortunately a lot of them are just ruins. We’ll pass through the Valley of Dades and we’ll go up to the mountainous area through an off-road path where many Berber villages and few nomads live in caves. Here we’ll have the chance to visit one of this families and take a look at their daily life and their main activity which is looking after herds of goats cheep. We’ll be very impressed by the landscapes of the colourful Valley of Roses before we reach the Skoura palm grove. We’ll arrive in the afternoon to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 5

OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – HIGH ATLAS – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Kasbah of Taourirt before going to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou to visit a World Heritage Site declared by the UNSECO. We’ll continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the El Glaoui Kasbah. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-N-Tichka Harbour, about 2,260 meters high (7,414 ft.) from the ground. Arriving in Marrakech and transfer to the aiport.
