FEZ - IFRANE - AZROU - FEZ
Ifrane is a mountain town located 65 km south of Fez. This city is full of parks, lakes and alpine-style houses, which is why it is known as "the little Switzerland of Morocco”. It was created by the French in 1930 as a vacation destination. During winter it's one of the most important ski destinations in Morocco. We'll visit the city center, the Stone Lion (carved by a German soldier during WWII in honor of the last lion in the Atlas), the University of Al-Akhawayn and the outdoors of the Royal Palace. We'll continue our journey to Azrou, an important Berber population located in the in the Middle Atlas. What makes this place so important is the cedar forest and Barbary macaques. We'll also visit the small medina, where you'll find the little stores and the wood workshops. We'll go back to Fez in the afternoon.
