DISCOVERING MEKNÈS

Meknès is the humblest of the four imperial cities, which makes it different, much quieter and more relaxing than Fez, Marrakech and Rabat. Meknès is surrounded by fields, with agricultural products as one best elementary ressources of the economy of this city. Curiosly, this region produces almost all the wine in Morocco, which is interesting because Muslims are forbidden to drink alcohol. Here you can visit the souks, the "Place el-Hedim" or the "el-Hedim" Square (similar to the Jamaa el Fna Square in Marrakech), the Dar Jamai Museum, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the Bou Inania Madrassa.
